Appearance: Loampaw is a groundhog; with soft fur and decently large stature due to being raised in captivity. They are a russet brown, with lighter brown dappling their back and tail.
Personality: Loampaw is kind and friendly, though naive, and often isn't as cautious as they should be. But when they do recognize danger, they are quick to escape by any way possible. However, Loampaw recognizes their own cowardice and wishes that they could be stronger and braver for their new clan. They feel conflicted between their nature, that of an herbivore and a pet, and their dream to be a great clanmate.
Loampaw enjoys assisting the medicine cats in gathering herbs or playing with younger cats. They especially know the value of a good nap, and definitely have a bit of a lazy streak. Unless it has to do with tunnels or chatting with friends they might not be motivated to do it!
History: Loampaw was born and raised in a town known for its yearly Groundhog day celebration, and lived on a lovely animal sanctuary. Once a year, they took up the role of Punxsutawney Phil, being pulled out of their hibernation and burrow to predict the coming of spring by whether or not they laid eyes on their own shadow. But they felt constrained by having their destiny and identity chosen for them, and decided to leave and forge their own path. After a long journey, they found themselves in a territory rich with interesting and beautiful tunnels, as well as a group of cats that had the sort of kinship and spirit that they desperately wanted to be a part of. After shedding the mantle of Punxsutawney Phil, they were without name, and offered their service and loyalty to Skyclan in exchange for a name and a home.
Trivia:
- Loampaw still believes that they are capable of predicting the weather and seasons.... they are not.
-Loampaw, as with all groundhogs and other rodents, is an herbivore.
- Also due to the fact that they are a rodent, they have great difficulty in helping the clan on hunting patrols.
- Their greatest joy is in exploring the tunnels of Echoclan and building their own burrows in the territory as well.
